An Edinburgh restaurant have hit out at beach-goers this week after the mounds of rubbish they left behind.
The nationwide heatwave has seen many across Edinburgh flock to the seaside or local beauty spots, with hundreds spotted at Portobello beach on Tuesday (July 19.)
Enjoying the sunshine, many had spent the entire day down at the water, however one local restaurant have condemned the mess they left behind.

Speaking on social media, popular pizza restaurant Civerinos shared an image of the bottles, bags and empty wrappers ditched on the sand.
Explaining they would be closing early to clear up the rubbish, the promenade eatery said:
"This is why we can’t have nice things. We’ll be closing early to pick up Buckie bottles so the beach is safe for tomorrow."

It came after Scotland recorded its hottest day ever on Tuesday, with temperatures peaking well over 30C, with one area in the Borders reaching a scorching 34.8C.
In Edinburgh, temperatures fell just shy of that figure, with highs of around 31C recorded on both Monday and Tuesday.
An amber warning for extreme heat had been issued for parts of Edinburgh and the Lothians by the Met Office, however things are set to cool down on Wednesday.
Although still hitting impressive highs of around 23C, cloudier conditions will move across the capital, with the city seeing almost a 10 degree drop overnight.
