An Edinburgh resident has hit out at parents parking their cars over double yellow lines and grass embankments at a local park as the youth football season returned to the capital.
North Gyler, a pseudonym for a Twitter user that covers local issues in the Gyle area of Edinburgh, was angered by the return of vehicles that often damage the green space at the park.
In images shared with Edinburgh Live, a row of cars can be seen lining an arterial road that links the David Lloyd gym and Glasgow Road.

The length of the road is marked with double yellows and it is clear to see that parents are parked over the markings.
North Gyler posted: “Oh look. Football started up again at the weekend in Gyle Park. Double yellow lines being ignored, parking on the grass.
“Why can't the council get a timely solution to this? As well as grand city plans, these basics should be getting sorted out at the Transport and Environment Committee.
“The reasons I can think of for allowing this to go on are:
- The Council don't have the authority required
- The Council don't have the manpower to enforce
- Council staff don't want the confrontation with drivers.
“So, ignore the problem.
“Councillor Hyslop and ex councillor Mark Brown have petitioned on the community's behalf over this problem. But it has been ongoing for years with no improvement.”
Drumbrae and Gyle SNP councillor, Euan Hyslop, said that Edinburgh City Council had agreed to commence fence work on July 11 and that he would chase up the issue.
One Twitter user replied: “Bollards or other physical barriers is the only language rogue drivers understand. Sad but true.”
Edinburgh City Council have been contacted for comment.
