Edinburgh pubs, clubs and late-night restaurants are able to apply to remain open for longer on the weekend of the King's coronation, it has been confirmed.
The City of Edinburgh Council have confirmed that establishments can extend their licensing hours during the May bank holiday weekend to allow people to enjoy the King's coronation for longer.
Venues across England and Wales previously announced they will be staying open into the early hours to mark King Charles III's coronation, with local venues across Edinburgh permitted to apply for longer opening hours too.

The City of Edinburgh Council confirmed to Edinburgh Live that the Licensing Board hasn’t made a general extension of licensed hours for the coronation.
However, applications for extended hours will be considered on a case by case basis, in line with the board’s general policy on extended hours.
A Council spokesperson said: “Edinburgh’s Licensing Board hasn’t made a general extension of licensed hours for the coronation.
"Applications for extended hours are considered on a case by case basis, in line with the Board’s general policy on extended hours."
The Scottish Government also confirmed that they have zero say in the decisions of each local authority's licensing board.
A Scottish Government spokesperson said: "Scottish Ministers do not have a power to grant extensions of licensed hours, unlike the Home Secretary under the England and Wales licensing regime.
"Independent Licensing Boards in Scotland can grant general extensions of licensed hours if they consider it appropriate to do so in connection with a special event of local or national significance."
