Edinburgh pub launches free bottomless crisp party every Sunday

A popular Irish bar in the capital has created a fun way of keeping customers entertained (and well-fed) by offering them the chance to enjoy a bottomless crisp party.

Posting on their official social media channels, Dropkick Murphys on Merchant Street in the Old Town, wrote that people can now enjoy the fun event every Sunday.

Sharing an image of a mountain of different crisp brands including McCoys, Monster Munch, Taytos, Space Raiders and of course, the legendary Johnny's Onion Rings, they wrote: "Bottomless CRISP party! Every Sunday from 3 pm.

"Like a bottomless brunch…. But with a free crisp sandwich. Our first delivery of crisps are in - and yes REAL TAYTOS are also on the way! DM to book a table."

Kicking off on Sunday there, the first event seems to have gone down as a success, with fans able to enjoy a little carb-on-carb action before the mountain of stock eventually ran out.

One fan responded: "OMG that's incredible!"

While another added: "Who wouldn’t want to go to a crisp party!"

Pub manager Colin Aitken, who came up with the idea, said: “I wanted to create a Dubai style bottomless brunch……. but in Dropkicks! So thinking of the food we could offer in a Boujie style, the obvious answer was to create the world's greatest Crisp Buffet, paired up with the finest of white pan loaves and the best Irish butter.

"Over the course of the day, we have multiple live bands, a pub quiz and full GAA coverage, all great accompaniments to a crisp sandwich!”
