A private Scottish island that boasts stunning scenery and wildlife is on the market cheaper than an Edinburgh one bed flat.
The private Scottish island in Dumfries and Galloway is on the market for offers over £150,000 - whereas a one one bedroom apartment in Meadowbank is currently on sale for £195,000.
Barlocco, known as one of the Islands of Fleet in Wigtown Bay has been described as a "romantic" dream because of its privacy and abundance of wildlife.

The island lies with the Borgue Coast, which as been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest and contains plants such as perennial flax, rock sea lavender, and fragrant orchid, as well as some of the best examples of maritime heath and coastal grassland vegetation.
Measuring 25 acres in length, Barlocco can be accessed by boat, or on foot, quad bike, or tractor at low tide. There is a pebble beach on the western side, where a boat may be anchored or beached.
The rocky island would be perfect for sea anglers or bird spotters. Gulls dominate the breeding seabird populations, with sizeable populations of great black-backed and common gulls, while smaller groups of breeding guillemot, razorbill, and fulmar can also be found.
Meanwhile, a flood pond provides water for wildlife and livestock for prospective buyers who are interested in grazing animals. There is also the opportunity for recreational activities, such as island walks, sea angling, and water sports.
Aaron Edgar, handling the sale for Galbraith, commented: "Barlocco Island is in a truly stunning location near Kirkcudbright in Dumfries and Galloway and within an area of scientific interest both geologically and biologically.
"There’s still a very romantic sentiment attached to owning your very own Scottish private island, where you can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy some peace and tranquillity in the most beautiful scenery around."

"We have witnessed strong demand from domestic and international parties for entire private islands having handled the sale of several in Scotland, so we expect a lot of interest."
Currently, there are no dwellings or buildings on the Island and no current or historic planning consents or applications relating to the Island. Any planning opportunities should be investigated by the buyer directly with the local planning authority.
