Edinburgh Premier Inn evacuated as fire crews race to city centre hotel

An Edinburgh Premier Inn has been evacuated following an incident at the city centre hotel.

Emergency fire crews were seen in attendance at the Rose Street accommodation shortly after 5.40pm on Thursday afternoon, with two engines in attendance.

Driving up the city centre street, the vehicles could be seen with their emergency blue lights on as firefighters headed into the building.

Guests from the Premier Inn could also be seen standing across the street as the emergency services assessed the situation.

The cause of the evacuated is currently not confirmed.
