Edinburgh police stop seven locals as they clamp down on dangerous driving

Edinburgh officers in the north of the capital have said that they have had a busy couple of days after they charged and reported several drivers for offences.

Drylaw police said that over the past two days (May 8 & 9), they have found seven drivers breaking the rules of the road in the local community.

One driver was reported for shockingly travelling at 65mph in a 40mph on the A90 around the Drylaw area.

An unbelievable three drivers were also charged with having no MOT during that span whilst one driver was found to have no licence.

Another driver was found to have been driving with no insurance whilst another disqualified driver was arrested for having no insurance.

In a post shared on Twitter by Police Scotland North West Edinburgh, officers said: “Drylaw officers have been busy over the last two days...

“One driver reported doing 65mph in a 40mph limit on the A90.

“Three drivers were charged with having No MOT.

“One driver had No License.

“One driver had No insurance.

“One Disqualified Driver who was arrested had no insurance.”
