Edinburgh police are currently on the scene after a body was found at Hunter Square during the extreme heatwave. The emergency services were alerted to the incident shortly after 10:30am on July 19.
Several police cars and an ambulance remain at the scene and eye witnesses have reported that a white tent has been erected while forensics investigate the scene.

It is understood the individual who appeared to be sleeping had actually died during the extreme heat the capital has been experiencing this week.
Temperatures have hit 28c in Edinburgh over the weekend and an amber weather warning was put in place.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to a concern for person at Hunter Square, Edinburgh, at around 9.40am on Tuesday, 19 July 2022.
"The body of a man was found and enquiries to establish the cause of death are ongoing."
