Edinburgh Police say enquiries are ongoing after a man was spotted in a wooded area wearing black pants.

Officers were called to the scene this week after a local saw him wearing only a skimpy t-shirt and the black underwear.

Edinburgh Live understands the man is described as being in his late 40s or early 50s, and around 6ft tall.

A witness is understood to have described him as having very hairy legs and was said to be carrying a vape.

Officers raced to the scene in the the wooded area at Buckstone Knoll but the man could not be found after a long search.

He was alleged to have entered the area from Buckstone Road, across from Buckstone Loan.

The last sighting of the man appears to have been at around 12:30pm, about half an hour before the police arrived.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.10pm on Wednesday, 23 March, police were called to Buckstone in Edinburgh, following a report of a man acting suspiciously in a nearby wooded area.

"Officers attended and searched the area, to no result.

"Further enquiries into the matter remain ongoing.”

Edinburgh Live will bring you any further updates on the incident as they become available.
