Edinburgh police race to three-car smash on busy city road near retail park

Edinburgh drivers have been issued a warning after multiple cars crashed outside a busy retail park.

Three vehicles have been reported to be involved in the collision in the outside lane of London Road, near Meadowbank Retail Park on Thursday April 20.

Eyewitnesses report seeing three police cars at the scene. Drivers heading along the main road city-bound have been warned that traffic is slow on approach.

Edin Travel News, a twitter account offering travel news from the City of Edinburgh Council, wrote: "3 car RTC at Meadowbank Retail Park in the outside lane. Traffic is slow on approach."

A Police Scotland Spokesperson said: “Around 3.50pm on Thursday, 20 April, 2023 we received reports of a three vehicle crash at Earlston Place, Edinburgh.

“Emergency services attended and three people were checked over by the Scottish Ambulance Service at the scene and did not require hospital treatment.

“One driver was issued with a Fixed Penalty Ticket in connection with a road traffic offence.”
