It wasn’t just the kids who were having a good a time at the 74th Annual Taxi Outing on Tuesday.
A policeman on a motorbike following the group of taxis with multicoloured balloons attached to them was seen bopping his head and busting some moves to blaring music.
Tiktok user @pree.miller, who is a mum to one of the children on the outing, uploaded the hilarious video to the popular social media platform with the caption “Edinburgh Taxi Parade 2022 – The dancing policeman”.

The video shows one of Edinburgh's finest following the kids on their exciting adventure showing weaving bike to the likes of Madness ‘House of Fun’ and Billy Ocean’s ‘Love Really Hurts Without You’.
A one minute 21-second video shows the officer kitted out in his uniform with the classic blue light flashing on the bike.
He was entertaining the kids in the convoy of taxis behind him as well as smiling passers-by in a touching gesture.
The footage continues to show the success of the yearly taxi tradition, which has had a two-year absence due to the pandemic.
Starting in 1947, the Taxi Outing happens in Edinburgh every year, where taxi drivers take time out of their schedules to take children with special needs around the city and East Lothian.
Taxis are decorated with balloons and banners to parade around the streets of Edinburgh while kids aim to soak members of the public with water pistols.
The theme this year was ‘family movies’ where the video footage shows pictures of the taxis dressed up to resemble family favourites such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Despicable Me, and some taxi heroes also dressed up as superheroes such as Iron Man and Batman. Fifty taxis took part in the fun-filled event this year, with over one hundred children participating in the festivity.
Uploading pictures from the after-party the children are rewarded with at their final destination at Archerfield Walled Garden, the Tiktok video also shows a bunch of youngsters having a blast at the funfair on carousel ponies, as well as real-life ponies to take the kids for a wander around the garden.
