A police horse had a worrying slip while carrying an officer down Canongate in Edinburgh on Monday evening, with a terrifying video capturing the moment it slipped on the pavement.
With security and police presence being at an all time high during the last four days in the capital due to the death of Queen Elizabeth II, police were seen using horses in front and behind the Queen's coffin procession travelling up the Royal Mile.
Similar specially trained horses are often seen a football games to control crowds. Fortunately, there was no need for the specialist officers to intervene during the procession, but one horse did take an unfortunate tumble.

A passer by just happened to be filing the two horses walking down the pavement towards the bottom of the Royal Mile when the one at the rear appeared to slip on the pavement and jolted the rider downwards.
Fortunately, the horse was able to regain its footing and bucked the officer back into the air and they continued down Canongate, as several eye witnesses stopped after hearing the incident to check that both were okay.
A huge scrape mark on the pavement where the horses hooves skated across the concrete were left behind.
On Monday, tens of thousands of locals and tourists flocked to the Royal Mile to watch the Queen's procession travel to St Giles' Cathedral, where Her Majesty's body was laid to rest for 24 hours. Around 26,000 people then joined a huge mile-long queue from The Meadows to the cathedral to see the coffin, with some queuing all the way through the night and into Tuesday morning.
Shortly before 1pm on Tuesday, the queue was closed as the last of those who had been waiting hours were funnelled through with the cortege preparing to leave the capital.
