Officers say that they are appealing to the public to come forward with information after a man was found unconscious and seriously injured in a Saughton underpass.
Police Scotland say that the man was found knocked out in the Calder Road area in an underpass at around 12.05am on Sunday March 19.
The man is described as being a white male with an average build of around five foot and 1o inches with brown hair.

They add that at the time he was wearing jeans, a grey hoodie and white Converse trainers.
Police say that he may have been walking west on Calder Road near to Saughton Mains Avenue in the capital.
They say that there is nothing at the moment to suggest that a crime has been committed but that they are trying to find out how the man sustained his serious injuries.
Detective Sergeant Alan Sharp said: “There is nothing at this time to suggest that any crime has taken place, however we are carrying out enquiries to find out how the man came about his injuries.
"I'd appeal to anyone who saw a man matching the above description walking in the Calder Road, Saughton area, or drivers with dash-cam footage who may have passed him as he was walking home to contact us on 101 quoting incident number 0064 of March 19.”
