Police in Edinburgh have put out an appeal for witnesses after an officer was injured before the Hearts v FC Zurich match on Thursday, August 25.
Shortly after 7.05 pm, an officer sustained a serious injury after a traffic cone was thrown on McLeod Street in Edinburgh as football fans for the match were being escorted to Tynecastle Park Stadium. The officer received treatment at the scene.
Now, the police are urging anyone who was in the area and witnessed what happened to get in touch. They are also encouraging anyone with video footage of the incident to contact the police.

Any witnesses can get in touch on 101 and quote incident number 2449 of August 25.
Detective Constable Andy Lambert, of Gayfield CID, said: “An officer was injured as a result of this incident so we are appealing for anyone who was in the area and witnessed what happened to get in touch.
“I would also encourage anyone who may have video footage of the incident to contact us.
“Anyone with information should contact police via 101, quoting incident 2449 of 25 August. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
