A kind-hearted takeaway owner is hoping to help alleviate the stresses on the families around Edinburgh this January by offering to give away free pizza.
Businessman Marc Wilkinson, 55, who opened Pure Pizza in Morningside in 2020, wants to do something about the problems people are facing as they struggle with the cost of living crisis.
He added that it would also help his staff as it would allow him to offer more shifts, stating that it is a "win-win".
Marc told the BBC: "The customers benefit, the suppliers benefit and my team of chefs benefit as it gives them more hours of work.

"I keep hearing about how the cost of living is affecting so many people and I just thought that my ovens are running all day anyway, so they may as well be working at full capacity all day if it helps people.
"Altruism is something that really interests me so I wanted to try it."
The speedy pizza parlour can apparently make 18 pizzas every six minutes, meaning there is plenty for everyone.
People visiting the shop on Morningside Drive in January will be able to collect a pizza anytime they are open, so long as it is not between the hours of 5.30 pm and 8.30 pm.
Adding that they will only need to provide a valid mobile number, he joked that he wouldn't be asking for asking for proof of address.
Estimating that it would cost him about £12,000, he hopes it will allow other people to spread kindness in their own way.
