An Edinburgh passenger nearly missed out on her first holiday in three years after she was booked onto a 'phantom train'.
Claire, who wishes to go by her first name only, turned up at Waverley Station to find Trainline had given her a seat on a train that didn't exist.
The teacher, who lives in Glasgow, was travelling with her partner from Edinburgh to London on Tuesday morning.
But the pair were shocked to discover their train had been cancelled - without any notification from Trainline - who they had booked with.
Claire was worried that she'd lose out on hundreds spent booking shows and different activities in London for the well deserved holiday.

Despite hearing nothing from Trainline, a representative from Lumo explained they could board the next train at 9am.
Speaking to Edinburgh Live, the primary teacher said: "So we booked our tickets in January, we are going for a holiday - the first since 2019.
"We got to the station this morning at 6 and the train was not on the board, so I went to speak to one of the people at the station and she told me it was cancelled.
"So our options was to pay £155 for new tickets or wait.
"I tried phoning their number but they don’t open till 9 so spoke to someone at National Rail and found out on Friday they had changed the timetable and now that train doesn’t exist.

"We had no contact to say they had changed the timetable and that the train we booked did not run.
"So we are now having to wait almost 3 hours to hopefully get on the next train."
Claire continued: "We’ve probably spent about £500-£600 already booking things, the trains were £60 - now we know why."
Trainline has been contacted for comment.
