Edinburgh partygoers dispersed by police after 'disturbance' at all day rave

Edinburgh ravers were dispersed by police after hundreds headed to a warehouse event.

A large police presence was called to the Biscuit Factory in Leith in the early hours of Sunday morning (January 30) as the site hosted the EH1 Central festival.

Run as an all day event, the music event was originally due to be held near Waverley Station, however a last minute change of plans saw it moved to Anderson Place.

Holding hundreds of partygoers, officers were called to the scene shortly after midnight following reports of a "disturbance."

After dispersing a large group on arrival, police confirmed there had been "no criminality."

Running from 1pm on Saturday to 3am on Sunday morning, the festival had lined up a series of different EDM DJs and artists to headline throughout the day.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said : "Officers attended a disturbance involving a large group at within a premises in Anderson Place in Edinburgh around 12.10am on Sunday, 30 January, 2022.

"The group dispersed on police arrival and there was no reports of any criminality."
