Edinburgh has been confirmed as having the joint highest chances of a White Christmas in the UK for this year.
With the big day only weeks away now, the classic winter weather is also expected to make an appearance sometime soon.
As temperatures begin to drop, both Edinburgh and Glasgow have been named as the bookies favourites to see a covering of snow on December 25, with a probability of 25 per cent.

Currently giving 3/1 odds, the two Scottish cities are the safest bet to see a white dusting, with Newcastle also coming in with the same odds.
Although not a huge percentage, the odds are better than in the likes of London, where they stand at only 6/1 and a 14.3 per cent chance of snow.

According to the Met Office, the actual definition of a White Christmas is just one snowflake having fallen in the area in the hours of December 25.
However, the last time a widespread UK snowfall happened on that day was all the way back in 2010, so it’s more likely to be a local affair.
