Edinburgh man rushed to hospital after dog attack in residential area

An Edinburgh man has been treated in hospital after he was bitten by a dog.

On Wednesday April 19 at around 8.30pm, a 41-year-old man was attacked by the animal in the Sighthill area, leaving him with injuries to his legs that needed medical assistance.

The dog owner is described as being a white man, bald, with a stocky build, and wearing glasses. Police officers are now appealing for witnesses in Sighthill Park to get in touch.

In a statement, Police Scotland wrote: "We are appealing for information after a 41-year-old man was bitten by a dog in Edinburgh.

"The person with the dog is described as being a white man, bald, with a stocky build, and wearing glasses.

"Detective Sergeant Todd Rutherford said: “The victim suffered injuries to his legs that required hospital treatment.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone in the area at the time and who witnessed the incident to get in touch.”

"Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting 1301 of 25 April, 2023."
