Edinburgh man dies after emergency services respond to concerns raised by neighbours

A man died in the Fernieside neighbourhood of Edinburgh on Tuesday morning, after emergency services rushed to the scene.

Police and the Scottish Ambulance Service attended Moredun Park Road in the capital, after worried neighbours raised concerns for a man in the area.

Eyewitnesses report that six police cars attended the scene as well as an ambulance, at approximately 6.40am on Tuesday, May 9.

Police have now confirmed that the man was pronounced dead at the scene, after the emergency services attended.

The authorities also noted that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the 52-year-old's death, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 6.40am on Tuesday, 9 May, police were called to a report of concern for a man found in Moredun Park Road, Edinburgh.

"Police and Scottish Ambulance Service attended and the 52-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

"There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
