Edinburgh Love Island contestant Jay praised for 'saying it exactly as it is'

Love Island returned to screens for another dramatic instalment on Tuesday night, marking the first appearance of Edinburgh newcomer Jay Younger.

The lad, whose grandad played for Liverpool and was captain of Scotland in the 1950s, entered the villa at the end of the episode alongside fellow new boy Remi.

His appearance may put fellow Islanders Ekin-Su and Davide's relationship on the rocks, as the former exclaimed she felt she was "going to pass out" after they were introduced.

The preview for Wednesday night's episode also teased drama between Jay and fellow lad Jacques, with the former telling the latter that he "looked a bit small for a rugby player".

Viewers at home were quick to notice the potential for drama, and took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

"Hope this Jay guy likes Ekin-Su but also talks to Paige just to get Jacques nervy," one shared.

"Davide will eat his words when Jay walks in," tweeted a second.

A third posted: "Right. Imma need Jay the Italian main course to come in for Ekin-Su right now so she can ignore the Italian snek Davide."

A fourth echoed: "Please let Ekinsu couple up with the new guy Jay! Clearly Davide loves the chase."

"Ekin-Su gonna MOVE MAD when Jay and Remi arrive," joked a fifth.

"i can tell jay is gonna cause problems," agreed a sixth, while a seventh commented: "Jay coming with that ENERGY".

Meanwhile, an eighth stated: "You’re a bit short to be a rugby player aren’t you? - Jay’s comment to Jacques is absolutely hilarious. His reaction even funnier! Bring in the Scot to say exactly how it is."

"Already a fan of Jay," agreed a ninth.
