Edinburgh locals spot royal helicopter landing in Holyrood Park for second time

The royal helicopter has been spotted in the capital for the second time in the space of 24 hours as members of the family carry out duties from their Edinburgh base.

The burgundy chopper was snapped arriving in Holyrood Park, a stone’s throw from the Queen’s official Scottish residence, before being boarded by Princess Anne shortly before 1pm on Saturday.

A small crowd gathered in the capital sunshine to catch a glimpse of the Princess Royal, who appeared to be carrying shopping bags, as she joined staff onboard the aircraft.

She had previously been whisked to the landing zone in a jet black Land Rover, one eyewitness said.

Anne has been carrying out various duties in the country over the past few days after joining her majesty and the Duchess of Cornwall earlier this week at a memorial service for Prince Phillip in London, as all three were spotted wearing the 'Edinburgh Green' as a fitting tribute to the late Duke of Edinburgh.

The Princess Royal also met personnel from Royal Scots Dragoon Guards having previously taken in an Ayrshire sojourn on her whistle-stop tour of the country to cut the ribbon on a new £12 million 'meat facility'.

Jasmine Anderson, who shot the video, said: "The helicopter flew just past my flat window, touched down surrounded by police cars from afar, police close by and two big boxy black cars that drove right up to the helicopter to collect its passengers, then drove to Holyrood palace, it was done very quickly."
