Edinburgh lads go viral after side-splitting arrival to watch new Despicable Me

A hilarious video has gone viral after a group of Edinburgh lads made quite the entrance at a city centre cinema.

The line of around 15 young men caused a stir as they arrived at the Vue cinema at Edinburgh's Omni Centre on their way to watch the latest Despicable Me film.

Not quite the target audience the blockbuster was expecting to receive, each of the guys had dressed to the nines for the event, arriving in a swish suit and tie.

Also sporting a pair of sunglasses, passers by seemed very amused as the line of men headed slowly up the escalator towards the entrance.

Posing their hands like cartoon character from the franchise, Gru, played by Steve Carrell, the stunt saw none of the men break a smile as they kept up the ruse.

Posting the clip to TikTok, the video quickly saw nearly 18,000 views and reactions as it played alongside the classic theme tune from the movie.

Captioning the clip '56 tickets to see Rise of Gru', one user commented: "imagine walking into the Omni centre and seeing this hahah."

Another responded: "The gentlemen have arrived."

The stunt has appeared to be a growing trend on TikTok to mark the release of Minions: The Rise of Gru, which has recently been released in cinemas.

In recent days, a number of young men have been spotted on camera all over the UK as they head to the big screen in swathes, all sporting a spotless suit.
