The killer of an Edinburgh takeaway driver has had his prison sentence extended by four months after he was found with three mobile phones in his jail cell.
John Reid, who killed delivery driver Simon San, had the phones and a charger hidden inside a TV set in the Castle Huntly prison near Dundee on April 16 last year, the Daily Record reports.
Reid was only 16 when he punched Simon San in 2010 outside a Chinese takeaway in Lochend, prompting him to fall to the ground and suffer fatal head injuries.

Reid’s solicitor told Perth Sheriff Court he was currently serving a seven year extended sentence with an earliest release date of January 2023.
Sheriff Francis Gill jailed him for four months and said: "The court takes unauthorised phones in jail seriously and I’m satisfied a custodial sentence is appropriate."
He was convicted of culpable homicide and sentenced to five years detention but was freed after three years.
He has since been jailed for further lengthy periods after being convicted of violent assaults in the city.
