As the country inches closer to the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee bank holiday weekend, events have been announced for the celebrations.
Edinburgh is one of the main cities to be involved with the event to witness the Queen's 70 year anniversary on the UK throne.

Celebrations will take place over a four day bank holiday from June 2 to June 5 with the main event on Saturday June 4.
Princes Street
The main Jubilee event in the capital will be the installation of big screens in Princes Street Gardens to project the processions taking place in London on the Saturday.
Organised by the UK’s Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport big screens will be placed in capital cities London, Cardiff and Edinburgh.
The event is free to enter and will allow spectators to picnic on the gardens in front of the screens while entertainment is provided by the Royal Marines and local performers.
Granton to Newhaven
A fleet of boats will be departing from Granton Harbour down the Edinburgh shoreline to Newhaven.
The Royal Forth Yacht Club are planning to adorn their boats with flags and decoration for a colourful display along Edinburgh’s waters.
Whisky Experience
Throughout June The Scotch Malt Whisky Experience is hosting a special whisky tour dedicated to the royal celebrations.
Scotland's Majestic Malts will take guests on a whisky tour to highlight the regal heritage of Scotch whisky.
Tickets must be booked in advance for this event and can be used throughout the day over the whole month of June. Tickets can be booked here.
Camera Obscura
Starting 2nd June Camera Obscura are unveiling a new exhibition at their World of Illusions landmark.
A one of a kind Rubin's Vase was created for the Jubilee which shows two hidden profiles of Queen Elizabeth II, a young, newly crowned Queen looking across to today’s Queen.

Salvation Army
The Salvation Army is also holding an event on East Adam Street as a joint celebration as it is 140 years since The Salvation Army started a church in this area of Edinburgh.
Free of charge the church will be providing food, craft activities for children, live music and a choir.
This event will take place on Saturday 4th June from 1-4pm.
Holyrood Palace
Holyrood Palace are holding their event a month after the celebrations taking place in Edinburgh in a couple of weeks.
A display is being unveiled on 3rd July that will stay until 25th September. This will allow visitors to see the outfits worn by the Queen at her Silver, Golden and Diamond jubilees.
Open to the public, tickets can be bought here in advance for the later event extending celebrations over the summer.
