Edinburgh welcomes the new Johnnie Walker experience to Princes Street this week after the eagerly-awaited attraction opened its doors.
The new eight-floor visitor centre began welcoming visitors on Thursday morning after construction on the project spanned over four years.
Formerly the site of House of Fraser, parent company Diageo have completely transformed from top to bottom, including shops, a tasting experience and even two brand new rooftop bars.
Costing over £185 million to complete, the centre is said to be the largest single investment programme of its kind ever seen in Scotch whisky tourism.
Stocked with over 150 different whiskies in the bar, the attraction also offers a 'flavour tour', where customers will have drinks made from the 800 different combinations available.
For those more interested in the creation of whisky rather than drinking it, organisers have also created a new whisky cellar, featuring some unique casks that can also be sampled.
On the top floor the attraction features two rooftop bars, one with a number of different whiskies, and the other a cocktail bar with a host of Scottish ingredients.
The top floor also features a breathtaking roof-terrace, with panoramic views over Edinburgh Castle and the city centre.
Barbara Smith, Managing Director of Johnnie Walker Princes Street, said: “We’re thrilled to be opening the doors and helping to re-build the tourism and hospitality industry after a very difficult 18 months.
"The story of the world’s best-selling whisky has been brought to life with flair and imagination and we have built a team which includes some of the most talented individuals in their fields.
"We are now ready to welcome visitors and begin telling the next chapter of how we are woven into the fabric of Scotland’s history and communities.”
