Edinburgh hotel guests were woken at 02:00am after Hearts fans let off fireworks in a bid to wake the Zurich FC players staying there.
It is a common practice for football fans across Europe to attempt to disturb visiting opponent players by setting off fireworks or fire alarms during the deep of night to try to gain an advantage for their team.
And it was no different in the capital last night as a handful of members from the Jambo faithful prepared a display in the early hours of the morning on Thursday August 25.

Residents and guests were woken up by the display at the back of the Edinburgh Marriott Hotel on Glasgow Road.
The fireworks lasted no longer than a couple of minutes and footage shared with Edinburgh Live appears to show them being discharged around 100 metres back from the rooms of hotel guests.
But some locals were irked by the move and condemned the fans for disturbing residents on a weeknight as well as for distressing family pets.
One person, who wishes to remain anonymous, said: “I am writing to alert you to the actions of the Hearts FC fans who decided to put on a firework display at the Edinburgh Marriott at 2.20am this morning to wake the Zurich FC players staying there.
“Absolutely zero consideration for the residents of the local area, including the small children and animals who were absolutely petrified! Not to mention,(it was) illegal.”
However one Hearts fan, who wished to remain anonymous said: “I think it’s good craic but it’s not going to change anything in the game really.”
Hearts will take on their Swiss opponents as they attempt to overturn a one goal deficit in order to reach the Europa League group stages.
If successful, the current Hearts squads will go down in history as a team that has punched above their weight to put the Scottish capital on the European football map.
