Halloween is just round the corner and the Edinburgh Horror Festival (EHF) has launched a spooky programme full of entertainment.

Frightful fans won't be short of things to do in Edinburgh over the Halloween weekend as the city's only horror festival is preparing for an abundance of affordable shows.

The Edinburgh Horror Festival is returning with a full programme full of theatre, comedy, magic, spoken word, movies, games, improv, workshops, interactive events and more.

Walking tours will also take place, starting from iconic destinations in the Old Town that will reveal Edinburgh's dark and haunting history.

All shows apart from The Original Spooky Magic Tour will allow people aged over 18 only and ID may be required. While most shows are Pay What You Can, organisers also advise customers to reserve tickets online for one-off events and shows on the Saturday night.

Shows at EHF include, The Crooked Path where storyteller Inés Álvarez Villa will share three stories of her own creation. These stories are full of darkness, incantations, and people prying into things better left alone.

The Moon Pact Trial follows a struggling actor tries to make a comeback in a play about an outsider sacrificed in an occult ritual.

The EHF 2022 will run October 27 to October 31 2022, primarily at the haunted theme bar, Banshee Labyrinth. Shows will run from 5pm on most days, and the final show of the night will be around 10.30pm.

The Edinburgh Horror Festival is a volunteer-led Festival that provides creatives with the opportunity to bring horror and horror adjacent live performances to eager audiences every October. Founded in 2016, the Festival team runs spooky events across the city throughout the year as well, including at historic venues such as Lauriston Castle and the Edinburgh Writers’ Museum. The Festival is curated with a particular focus on acts that centre diversity and high quality horror performance.
