Edinburgh home viewed by millions on popular US show House Hunters International

Edinburgh was featured on an American television show broadcast to over a million homes in the United States on Tuesday night, as a woman from the midwest visits the capital.

Mariah Fredrick, from Indiana, was in Edinburgh searching for her dream home alongside Ireland-born friend Darragh Mullooly.

The programme synopsis reads: "Stuck on Scotland: A young midwestern woman looks to fulfill her childhood dream and find a home in Edinburgh, Scotland.

"She’s looking for a place with plenty of room that can accommodate her dog, but finding a place that meets her extensive wish list will be a challenge."

Produced by Leopard USA, the show was centred around the 27-year-old searching for her new home thousands of miles from her home in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The producers tweeted a trailer to the show with the caption: "Dog Mom! House Hunters International #Premiere! #Edinburgh #Scotland 10:30|9:30c @HGTV.

Speaking in the trailer, Mariah said: "I knew if I was going to be a dog mom, I had to be closer to work."

The property developer then appeared and said: "Ten minutes away from the city centre", in reference to a home she was viewing.

The trailer then takes us around various areas of the capital, showing off the tram links, the extensive stairways in the tenement households and even a Scotland flag to boot.

Unfortunately, the show is not yet available to view in Scotland, but may appear on the UK version of HGTV soon enough.
