Edinburgh gets a new Greek pastry shop with tempting Mediterranean desserts

A new bakery serving Greek pastries and desserts has just opened in Edinburgh city centre, offering outstanding baked goods inspired by Mediterranean cooking traditions.

Located at 85 Morrison Street, Slice of Greece patisserie and coffee shop is hoping to bring authentic Greek sweets and coffee to the capital for the local community to enjoy.

Talking about their new fascinating venue, the Slice of Greece team said: "With Slice of Greece, we aim to bring the "home feeling" and atmosphere of a traditional Greek Patisserie (=Zaharoplasteio) to Edinburgh.

"People will be able to enjoy our desserts and coffees while learning about the tradition and origin of every dessert. We want people to recall happy memories of sunny holidays in Greece, as well as create new memories connected to the city of Edinburgh, bringing the separate geographic locations closer together."

At the heart of the venue are Machi Koukoutara, who brings over 23 years of face-to-face customer interaction and customer service experience to the business, and Evi Bauliota, who has been involved in patisserie businesses her family owned back in Greece since the age of 12.

The pair moved to Edinburgh in 2014, fueled by the dream of opening their own patisserie in the fine Scottish capital - and now, the dream has finally come true.

Slice of Greece is open from Monday to Saturday from 10am to 7pm.
