A concerned local resident captured the moment a popular Edinburgh takeaway went up in flames at the foot of a residential block on Wednesday night.
Black smoke could be seen coming from Fat Tony’s Takeaway, a fish and chip shop, at around 10.20pm on May 10.
The passerby was able to capture the scene as several fire appliances were on site to try to tackle the blaze at 61 Mayfield Road.

It is understood that a double deep fat fryer had caused the fire which took several hours to extinguish.
A singular caller had alerted the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) to a fire at the chippy which is situated between A.S Mini Market and Well Pharmacy on the busy stretch of road.
The SFRS said they received a call at 9.35pm and that three fire appliances and one height appliance rushed to the scene.
In the footage, 11 firefighters can be seen in front of the chip shop having closed the road and several hoses can be seen running into the business entrance.
The SFRS said that the fire was eventually brought under control at 11.22pm.
A spokesperson for the SFRS said: “We received one call at around 9.35pm on Wednesday May 10.
“There was a report of a fire within a building that was understood to be a fish shop at 61 Mayfield Road.
“We mobilised three fire appliances and one height appliance to respond to the incident.
“The fire in a double deep fat fryer was brought under control at 11.22pm.”
