The countdown to Christmas is on with people now finishing the last of their festive shopping whether it's for gifts or food.
And whilst many of us are staying indoors, we're still checking the weather to see if we will get a white Christmas with kids wanting to build that all important snowman.
Temperatures have been dipping below zero recently however the numbers are on the rise as we edge closer to the big day.

So what does the weather look like for this festive season? Here's what the Met Office and BBC has to say...
Edinburgh Christmas Eve weather forecast
According to the BBC Weather, the next couple of days are set to continue the way they have been with no major changes happening before Christmas.
On Christmas Eve, there are set to be highs of 7C and lows of 6C. A gentle breeze and light rain are predicted for the day before Christmas. The chances of rain remain high however there are sunny intervals from 11am until 3pm.

On the big day, it's set to be cloudy with a moderate breeze. So far, it seems as though we will have a dry day with sadly no snow predicted.
The Met Office are also, currently, not predicting any snow for Christmas Day. The forecasters predict similar temperatures with highs of 8C and lows of 2C.
Edinburgh Boxing Day weather forecast
Things are now set to pick up with the day set to be dry and bright. Temperatures are set to see highs of 4C and lows of 2C.
From 9am until 3pm, the sun is set to be out shining down on the capital with a predicted moderate breeze cooling things down.
There is also a chance of rain however if this does happen, it will be light and shouldn't come to much.

According to the Met Office, they predict the following:
Today
Early fog patches, then mainly dry in morning, with bright or sunny spells, but the odd shower. More showers around in afternoon and becoming mostly cloudy, with a little snow falling on higher ground. Light mainly westerly winds turning easterly. Maximum temperature 7 °C.
Tonight
A few clear spells, mostly Dumfries and Galloway, but mostly cloudy overnight with patchy rain and hill top snow, though mainly confined to east later with moderate easterly winds. Minimum temperature 2 °C.
Friday
Some rain and hill snow in east in morning otherwise mainly dry and bright, but cloudier in afternoon, with rain and hill top snow spreading north as southeast winds freshen. Maximum temperature 5 °C.
Outlook for Saturday to Monday
Rain then showers Saturday with fresher southwest winds. Windy with some rain Christmas Day, becoming drier in afternoon with northwest winds. Cold, windy Monday with wintry showers, most in west.
