History fans looking for some family fun this summer can enjoy an afternoon of jousting at one of the country's most famous historical sites close to the capital.
Spectacular Jousting is returning to Linlithgow Palace for an afternoon of "exhilarating horsemanship and impressive skills" as knights recreate the battles of the past at the annual jousting tournament.
The exciting event takes place over the weekend of Saturday, July 1 and Sunday, July 2 with ticket prices starting at £8, which you can find out more about and order on their website.
You can also enjoy court jesters, Falconry displays, and battle reenactments, while there is plenty of fun for children too with the Kids Army and Living History Camp events'.

Posting on the website, the Historic Environment Scotland team, who are behind the event said: "Hear the thundering of hooves and the clash of lances as our four champions take to the arena for this spectacular show.
"Why not wander through the living history camps and meet some soldiers fresh from the battle."
