Edinburgh emergency services race to blazing inferno on Arthur's Seat

Emergency services in Edinburgh raced to a blazing inferno on Arthur's Seat in the late hours of February 12.

The incident at the hill in Holyrood Park is ongoing and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service received a call alerting them to the fire at 22.30.

Ferocious orange flames can be seen from the Southside and Newington areas nearby and the dark sky is filled with billowing smoke.

The inferno appears to be on the Crags and there are three engines at the scene battling the huge flames.

It is currently unknown if anybody has been injured.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "We received reports of a fire on Arthur's Seat at 22.30 on Sunday, February 12."

They added: "The incident is ongoing and three appliances are at the scene."
