Edinburgh drivers have been warned ahead of overnight works between Junction 1 and 2 of the M8 motorway.
The essential resurfacing works, initially delayed due to adverse weather, will take place on the M8 westbound main carriageway between Hermiston Gait and Claylands from January 16, for five nights.
The work will cover 1.2 kilometres of the busy main road resulting in a closure from 20:30 until 06:00 on the nights of January 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20. To minimise disruption, no work will take place on weekends.

BEAR Scotland have confirmed a signed diversion route will be in place from Hermiston Gait to M8 Junction 2, via the A720 Edinburgh bypass, the A8 and M9 Junction 1 Newbridge.
This diversion will add approximately five minutes and 1.6 miles to affected journeys. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These surfacing improvements will improve the road quality and safety for motorists using this section of the M8.
“Carriageway closures are essential for safety, however we’ve planned the works to take place overnight to minimise any disruption.
“We will do all we can to complete the project as quickly as possible and thank motorists in advance for their patience.”
All works are weather dependent and subject to postponement in the event of adverse conditions.
