Drivers in Edinburgh have been issued a warning as a road is currently blocked off during peak rush hour.
Motorists in the city have been warned that they will face delays as diversions are in place after Old Dalkeith Road at Ferniehill was blocked off on Monday morning (January 23). Eyewitnesses say police are at the scene and the road has been taped off to public and transport.
While the reasoning behind the road closure has not yet been confirmed, Lothian Buses confirmed that a number of buses have been diverted since 3.30am.

Borders Buses alerted travellers: "The 51 and X95 Services are being diverted due to a police incident, we are currently unable to serve Danderhall and The Wisp until further notice."
The bus operator states on the website: "Closure of Old Dalkeith Road at Ferniehill means extra traffic and delays on alternative route, notably: The Wisp, Niddrie Mains Road, Craigmillar Castle Road, Gilmerton Road."
It adds: "Due to a road closure buses are unable to serve Old Dalkeith Road and are instead diverted via Gilmerton Road and Moredunvale Road on journeys to The Royal Infirmary and via Moredunvale Road, Craigour Drive, Craigour Avenue, Moredun Park Road and Gilmerton Road on journeys from The Royal Infirmary until further notice."
The bus routes affected are the number 7, 33, 48, 49, X33.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.20am on Monday, 23 January, we were called to a report of a man having been seriously attacked in the Ferniehill Drive area of Gilmerton, Edinburgh.
“A 30-year-old man has been taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
“Enquiries are ongoing."
