Edinburgh drivers caught out after police pull over cars in winter crackdown

A group of Edinburgh drivers were caught out last week after police carried out a crackdown on motorists near the city bypass.

Issuing a warning on social media at the weekend, road police in Edinburgh and Midlothian shared they had brought a number of drivers into their checkpoint as part of their winter safety campaign.

Creating the stop-point at Straiton retail park next to the A720, nearly 50 unsuspecting drivers were asked to pull over so their details and vehicles could be looked over.
