Edinburgh driver captured taking up whole city centre pavement in weird stunt

A video captured on social media has shown an Edinburgh driver taking the term 'dodgy parking' to the next level.

Last night, February 8, a video on Snapchat showed a pre-booked hire car parked on the pavement opposite St Andrew Square in the city centre.

The driver appears to keep attempting to pull away but keeps putting their foot on the break as a passer-by recorded the bizarre moment whilst saying: "What's this man doing, get off the pavement."

The street is usually packed with locals and tourists during the evening, meaning the driver's makeshift parking space was even more dangerous and bizarre.

The man walking past seemed in complete disbelief at what they were seeing and confused as to why the driver decided to fully stop and take up the whole pavement instead of pulling over at the side of the road.

The driver of the black Toyota definitely appeared to be having some sort of car trouble to justify stopping in such a place as people were having to walk around the vehicle to continue along the pavement.

With some debatable parking often being spotted in and around Edinburgh, this one is surely up there with the worst.

The full video can be found here, but it does contain strong language.
