Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home has seen a wave of donations following the sad death of beloved entertainer Paul O'Grady.
The 140 year-old animal refuge took to social media to thank their supporters as they had a surge of donations in memory of O'Grady.
On April 4, the charity revealed they had received over £1,000 in donations along with a number of multiple direct debits set up as supporters honour O'Grady who was known for his love of animals, and his own work with pet charities.

In a tweet, Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home said: "Over the weekend, over £1000 has been donated to the Home, as well as multiple direct debit donations set up, in memory of animal lover Paul O’Grady.
"We are incredibly grateful that people have chosen to honour him through our work."
This comes after the animal refuge warned that the staggering rise in energy costs could see the home be 'brought to its knees'.
A whopping 3,000 animals are fed monthly through donations with the aim being to ensure families can keep their pets in a warm and caring home environment.
Speaking about the rising costs in November, CEO Lindsay Fyffe-Jardine, said: "We have made substantial savings through our own in-house cost-cutting, but what we cannot do is reduce the level of care we afford our animals. They are and always will be our priority.
"It takes gas and electricity to keep them warm and fed – but these horrendous increases are unprecedented, and while we appreciate, they are hitting everyone and will start to hit others’ in the animal charity before long, we cannot simply try and absorb them through donations.
"We need to see positive action now to ensure the future of the Home – and the well-being of the animals in our care."
