Edinburgh design firm Nile acquires Dig Inclusion

Strategic design company Nile has acquired Dig Inclusion and its flagship accessibility product Hugr.

An early pioneer of accessibility, the Welsh business is dedicated to making digital media inclusive.

Nile, based in Edinburgh since 2006, aims to transform legacy systems and design digital products and services around people. Its customers include NatWest, Edinburgh University and Agilent.

Sarah Ronald, founder of Nile, said: "We are excited to welcome Dig to the Nile ecosystem - their dedication to making technology accessible for all aligns perfectly with our mission to leave behind a better world."

Dig has a track record in the public, private and charity sectors, with projects for the NHS and Department of Transport, as well as the Premier League.

Dig's founder Grant Broome said: "We're thrilled to be joining forces with Nile. We've worked with Sarah and the team for five years and their 'people first' approach to design is a perfect fit for us.”

By bringing the technical expertise and thinking of Dig in-house, Nile designers will now work alongside accessibility specialists.
