Edinburgh contestant bags date 'in seconds' on new TV show and viewers loved it

An Edinburgh contestant on new ITV dating show Romeo and Duet has found a likeable lover, after wasting no time sprinting down the Juliet balcony to meet him.

Jamie Lee Morley appeared on the new dating programme, hosted by former Strictly star Oti Mabuse, which sees singletons stand on a balcony and serenaded by potential love matches that they can hear, but not see.

Hopeful singers get just one song to entice a potential new partner down from the balcony, and only then will the two come face-to-face for the first time.

Edinburgh care worker Jamie was looking for "someone to have a laugh with" on the show, and when Liverpudlian Jonathan began serenading him with Secret Love Song by Little Mix, he could barely hold his excitement in!

When he took to the stage and began singing Secret Love Song, Jamie screamed to the audience " Little Mix! It's Little Mix!".

Viewers were absolutely loving Jamie's reaction, and took to social media to share their excitement for the pair.

One Twitter user wrote: "If you're not running to me like Jamie did I don't want you."

Another said: "I have a good feeling about these two."

And a third wrote: "Get someone who runs to you like Jamie did."

After their lovely first meeting, Jonathan and Jamie duetted to Everybody Needs Somebody, they received huge applause from the crowd, and won the show altogether with their joint performance!

Jamie posted the duet onto his Twitter, writing: "Still can’t get over this experience! And we won the show with our duet! How incredible is Jonathan tho?"
