Edinburgh commuters face further delays after Scotrail announced its reduced timetable will be extended.
The rail operator announced the new schedule in January due to staff shortages caused by the Omicron variant.
Trains were running at reduced services throughout the past month but it was expected that a normal timetable would start form next week onwards.

However, Scotrail say the cuts will remain in place for at least one more month, when the situation will next be reviewed.
The affected routes in the capital city include, the Edinburgh Waverley Dunbar and North Berwick service, Edinburgh Waverley to Fife and the
Edinburgh Waverley to Newcraighall and Tweedbank train.
And incoming routes from Glasgow Central to Edinburgh Waverley via Shotts and Glasgow Queen Street to Edinburgh Waverley, Stirling, Dunblane and Alloa are also being disrupted.
Scotrail say before deciding on returning a full service in Edinburgh and across Scotland they will now look at customer demand, as well as staff levels.
A ScotRail spokesperson said: “ScotRail’s current temporary timetable will remain in place beyond the original planned end-date of January 28.
“We will be keeping it under review and will make changes based on the demand from customers and the continuing impact on services of staff who are absent due to testing positive for coronavirus or who are self-isolating.
“And customers should check their journeys which we will keep updated through our website and social media channels.”
