Edinburgh's biggest festival is beginning to take shape at locations across the city centre, with some of the most central and iconic outdoor bars and venues getting ready for the 75th anniversary - that kicks off in just over five weeks.
With just over a month to go venues are getting ready to welcome hundreds of thousands of tourists, performers and artists who venture to the capital for the world's biggest arts festival ever year.

The Edinburgh Festival Fringe will take place from August 5 – 29 at locations across the city, with construction of the venues and bars in both Southside starting this week in preparation for the Fringe.
Although the festival was on last year it wasn't quite the same due to travel and hospitality restrictions still being in place meaning for most of August you had to remain seated all the time and order drinks through an app.
With basically no travel restrictions in place and many big attendance events going ahead so far unscathed it's looking like the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and International Festival will be back and better than ever.
Exciting pictures show the transformation of locations such as Bristo Square and George Square as contractors begin to create the outdoor bars and venues.
Underbelly have confirmed that this year, Bristo Square will be home to ten Underbelly fringe venues: McEwan Hall, the Cowbarn, Friesian, Jersey, Dexter, Dairy Room, Ermintrude, Buttercup, Clover, and Daisy.
Construction work has also began in nearby George Square, where most of the university gardens will be set aside for Assembly Festival which is home to the spectacular Palais du Variété spiegeltent.
The organisers will also host a new outdoor stage in the gardens and a huge selection of local street food and drink options, Underbelly's venue Wee Coo will also be in George Square, along with a herd of outdoor bars and food stalls.
