Popular Edinburgh city centre nightclub Lulu has officially closed as work begins on a new 'late night venue'.
In October 2022 we reported how plans were submitted to the council which would see the club, located on George Street below Tigerlily, undergo a huge transformation.
The plans are now in full swing over eight months later as the team posted a goodbye for now message on their Instagram page following their last club night on the weekend.

They said: "We have now closed our doors to LULU as you know it, and construction is underway to bring you George Street’s newest, hottest, late night venue.
"Keep your eye on our social media to find out more about what’s coming next for our most exciting chapter yet!"
It is currently unclear what the team plan for the popular nightclub venue, although plans submitted to the council show how layout of the site could be changed around, with the introduction of new booths and seating.
Under the plans, the bar would also be moved to the back of the venue, a space currently taken up by the main dance floor. In the space currently occupied by the bar, drawings suggest that some of the new booths will be introduced, which will sit behind the DJ booth.
The club have also deleted all of their Instagram posts before unveiling their new look and approach to symbol a new start. For all the latest news on Lulu's new and exciting venue, you can follow them on Instagram here.
