Edinburgh city centre bar set to close ahead of massive refurbishment this month

An iconic Edinburgh bar is set to close this month ahead of huge renovation works.

Ryan's Bar at the West End informed customers they will be shutting their doors for the foreseeable future as the site is completely transformed.

Describing the decision as an "exciting new chapter", the Hope Street venue will close next week, with locals only left with a few days left to pop down for a pint.

Closing up shop from Monday, February 28, the bar shared the news on social media, with staff providing no official reopening date for the venue.

A classic city centre bar, Ryan's has been in its current state for years, with the corner unit providing great views of the West End as well as an array of food and drinks.
