A major slip road on the Edinburgh City Bypass has been closed following a road traffic collision.

Emergency and recovery services had raced to the scene on Sunday afternoon (February 20) following the incident at around 1.30pm.

Police have confirmed the crash involved two motorcycles and a car, with emergency services still at the scene.

Occurring on the eastbound slip road at Hermiston Gait, the road had been partially blocked due to the crash, with traffic moving slowly in the area.

After the arrival of emergency services, teams were able to cordon off one lane of the slip road at Hermiston Gait, with lane two now open to traffic.

It is unclear if there have been any injuries as a result of the crash.

" Lane 1 (for #A71) remains closed."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were called to a crash involving two motorcycles and a car at the Hermiston Gait Roundabout off the A720 around 1.30pm.

"Emergency services are currently at the scene."
