A popular Edinburgh Chinese takeaway that has been serving customers for 54 years is set to close its doors as the cost of living crisis continues to plague businesses across the city.
With closures coming thick and fast throughout the capital, SilverBowl Chinese takeaway in Leith is the latest victim of rising costs, leaving regular customers gutted as they announced their imminent closure in a weeks time.
The takeaway, located on Leith Walk, has been serving up oriental food to locals since 1968, but on June 11 it will be their final day trading.
The business left a note for customers regarding their "painful" decision.

Putting a note of closure in with customers' orders, the sheet of paper read: "Closing on 11.6.22. It is with a heavy heart that we have taken the painful decision to permanently close up shop after 54 years serving our local community as a family business.
"The spiralling cost of supplies and another looming energy price hike means that it is no longer a viable option to remain open.
"It was an honour and privilege to have served the residents of Leith and beyond and we are eternally grateful and fortunate to have been lovingly accepted into the local community all those years ago.
"As they say.. all good things come to an end and sadly this is indeed the end for us. Thank you all for your custom and support over the years. John & family at the SilverBowl."
SilverBowl offered a takeaway and delivery service, as well as putting on offers throughout the week for households and students.
It's fair to say they had become one of the most well renowned takeaways in Leith, and Edinburgh, with locals left devastated after learning the fate of SilverBowl.
With the cost of living crisis affecting businesses as well as the most vulnerable, several shop closures have been reported in recent months and, unfortunately, there are no sign to suggest it will stop any time soon.
