An Edinburgh carer has been struck off the register after a series of failings at a local care home.
A decision was made this week by the SSSC to remove Nancy Morley from her position after she was negligent in a host of different duties at the North Merchiston Care Home.
Following an investigation, Ms Morley was found to have been in a Senior Nurse position when she forgot to carry out tasks, from updating medication records to informing a patient's family of a serious fall.

All taking place between December 2020 and January 2021, the first issues arose when a patient had returned from hospital following a stroke.
In what should have been a flawless care service, Ms Morley was found to have failed to have updated any of their records, and new needs surrounding diet, mobility and bowel problems.
In the week that followed, the patient’s records were not updated to say they could not get fluids through a straw, a mistake which caused them to choke as a result.
During the weeks that followed, Ms Morley was found to have made the same mistake with other residents, with one patient’s possible infection not recorded, and another’s family not informed of a fall they had suffered at the home.
With the failings highlighted, the SSSC review found that Ms Morley had put “vulnerable residents at serious risk of harm”, as other staff members were not aware of their needs.
A conclusion read: "Social service workers are trusted to care for the most vulnerable members of society. They must protect them, insofar as possible, from harm.
"You failed to update relevant care documentation for residents AA, BB, CC and DD. This is a failure to carry out the duties expected of you in your role and your actions placed vulnerable residents at serious risk of harm, as your colleagues were unaware of significant changes in their health and care needs."
At the time of the incidents, Ms Morley was also found to have been under a previous warning for conducting similar behaviour in the past.
A removal order was passed by the council on May 25.
