A man from Selkirk that travelled to Edinburgh has expressed his thanks to a Café worker after they offered him a free cup of coffee and water whilst they waited for their bike to cool down.
Sean Scott, 24, decided to set off on a ride from Selkirk to Galashiels for his breakfast on January 24.

He decided after a bite to eat that he would attempt to ride as far up the A7 as possible but once he arrived at Newtongrange, the sight of the capital pulled him into the city centre.
After riding into Auld Reekie, Sean noticed that his bike was overheating and was unable to travel any further, so he stopped to grab a coffee at the nearby Calton View Café.
He began to chat with the man behind the till and after enjoying their conversation he explained what had happened.
The gentleman working at the café was understood to be extremely apologetic that he could not help Sean fix his bike but instead offered Sean a space to recuperate as well as a free coffee and bottle of water.
Sean was so overjoyed by the act of kindness that he took to Facebook to share his gratitude with the business.
In his post he said: “This place was so nice. My bike had overheated and I’d pushed it off the road to the side of the pavement.
"When I went to get a coffee here [at the café] the guy was lovely, [he had] great conversation with [regards to] what he was making and he wouldn’t even let me pay. Said he couldn’t help with my bike sadly, but the least he could do was give me a coffee and water.
“The world has great interactions everyday with selfless people who just wanna do the right thing. Anyone in Edinburgh should support his business. And beside the fact it’s run by a great person, the coffee was absolutely amazing, like no joke, probably the best I’ve had, absolutely perfect frothy consistency and taste. 10/10.”
When speaking to Edinburgh Live, he added: “It was so kind of him to do it considering the café was pretty empty at the time. I wanted to pay but he just insisted. It was such a kind act and I just hope that the business gets the recognition they deserve.”
