Edinburgh cafe goes viral for its hilarious and 'unimaginative name'

An Edinburgh cafe has gone viral after an Instagram post pointed towards their rather unimaginative, but hilarious, use of advertising.

The 275 Cafe and Takeaway on Easter Road is known throughout the city for their iconic sign that simply reads: "Bacon rolls etc."

Rather than the more modern approach of bright lights and detailed menus, this cafe owner has kept it simple, but is certainly is effective.

Scottishpatterr on Instagram shared the post, which has gathered almost 30,000 likes and over 350 comments, with the caption: "The award for the 'least imaginative sign' goes to this cafe owner in Edinburgh."

The cafe on East Road is known within the city for their witty sign, which can be spotted from a distance due to its huge white writing.

Users in the comments found the sign hilarious, tagging their mates and making jokes.

One said: "To be honest, you don't need to say much more do you."

Another added: "Aww I used to love beside that. The bacon rolls etc are ace to be fair."

One joked: "That's all I need to know, I'll be in next week.

Others used it as an opportunity to point out how great the cafe is and that is is 'iconic' throughout Leith.

One said: This place is iconic." Another agreed, saying: "Believe it or not, it's a great wee cafe."

Although the cafe offers takeaway and delivery options, their use of drawing in customers is certainly top tier.
